Request Execution Lifecycle

A high-level outline of the request flow. Features such as caching, retries, and auth refresh only run when configured.

Pipeline Flow

1

Build request configuration

Combines client defaults with request options and resolves URL, path parameters, query parameters, and headers.

2

Apply request policies

Configured interceptors, auth, circuit breaker, caching, deduplication, and concurrency limiting participate as applicable.

3

Dispatch through Fetch

Serializes supported request bodies and calls fetchImpl or globalThis.fetch with timeout and abort handling.

4

Handle response and retry

Eligible HTTP or network failures may be retried. Configured auth can refresh and retry eligible responses.

5

Parse and validate

Parses the configured response type and validates data when a schema is provided.

6

Return result

Updates an enabled cache, runs response interceptors, and returns an HttpResponse, unwrapped data, or a safe tuple.

Implementation details
This is a conceptual overview, not a fixed count of internal stages. Exact handling depends on request options; see the package source for implementation details.
